PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

A long-time partner in the firm, Wendy L. Mager became of counsel on January 1, 2013. Wendy has extensive experience in commercial litigation. In particular she has successfully represented national liability insurers in environmental and other types of coverage litigation in multiple venues on the eastern seaboard. She has also represented a major insurer in administrative litigation with the State Department of Insurance and in a challenge to the constitutionality of automobile insurance reform legislation. In addition, Wendy has defended wrongful termination actions against Fortune 500 companies and represented a self-insured New Jersey hospital and its staff members in medical malpractice litigation, defended products liability actions against a major Canadian mining company, and represented a hospital and major university on issues of substantial public import in the New Jersey Supreme Court.

Wendy is a frequent lecturer and panelist on environmental coverage issues in New Jersey. She participated in an ICLE seminar on Morton International Inc. v. General Accident, the New Jersey Supreme Court’s pollution exclusion/regulatory estoppel decision, and was a panelist at the New Jersey State Bar Association Environmental Law Section Seminar on Owens-Illinois, Inc. v. United Ins. Co., the New Jersey Supreme Court’s continuous trigger/allocation decision. Wendy has also served as lead counsel during an environmental insurance coverage trial that settled on favorable terms after the insurer’s introduction of an expected or intended defense.
