Richard J. Orr has extensive experience in state and federal courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including jury and non-jury cases, and appellate proceedings. He has particular expertise in defending insurers in complex insurance coverage litigation. Some representative coverage cases in which he was involved include In Re Combustion Engineering (D.Del Bankr), Septa v. Commercial Union Insurance Co. (Phila. Cty C.C.P.), Rohm and Haas Co. v. Continental Casualty Co., (Phila. Cty C.C.P.), and Employers Mutual Casualty Co. v. Owens Insurance Ltd, (N.J.Super., Ch. Div. Morris Cty). Rich’s expertise also includes products liability, contract disputes, restrictive covenants and non-competitive agreements, and premises liability litigation.
Prior to joining Smith Stratton in 1996, Rich was an associate with Klett Lieber Rooney & Schorling in Philadelphia from 1995-1996, and with Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll from 1992–1995 in Philadelphia.
